Set The Table
Late Summer Florals Tablescape
This tablescape was my vision of late summer at its most colourful with seasonal flowers bathed in the last rays of summer sun. It is a time when British flowers are some of the most flamboyant, dramatic and joyful. The table was an ode to them at their most abundant.
Dramatic dahlias always make guests smile the moment they are seen on the table. Next to them, I used pops of cosmos and anemones, all of them seasonal just as you might find in an early autumn garden. Gooseberries, whitecurrants and open figs were scattered between the vases, inspired by harvest and the paintings of the Dutch Masters.
Flowers were integral to the table: I loved this tablecloth from By Hope Home, printed with hydrangea paintings. The napkins were embroidered with ST~GERMAIN's signature elderflowers too.
Texture and materials were key to the look: plates were framed with woven rattan chargers, contrasting against the antique brass flower vases and candlesticks.
"It was such a joy to work with a brand who understand the power of florals and colour to elevate the everyday."
