Roses & Pomegranates Tablescape With Good Earth

Roses & Pomegranates Tablescape With Good Earth

For my first table of the year, it was such an honour to collaborate with Good Earth - my first collaboration with an Indian brand! I love the ethos on which it was founded back in 1992: Anita Lal wanted to bring the talent of kumbhars (village potters) to a wider audience. That ambition is just as present today: the brand aims to sustain and revive Indian traditions and craftsmanship.

Set The Table

Good Earth

Jaipur is at its coldest in January with lots of flowers in hibernation but pomegranates are at their peak so it felt the perfect time to use them on the table centrepiece. That's when I found the pomegranates and roses plates from Good Earth and inspiration took hold!

The collection was created in collaboration with British artist Rebecca Campbell for their recent 25th anniversary. I painted the menus, candles and place cards with the same fruits and flowers, even a leopard or two.

For flowers, I used roses from the Phool Mandi (by Govind Dev Ji temple) but reflexed out the stiff petals so that they were fuller. I mixed those in with bougainvillaea and a few cherished ranunculus I grew on our terrace.
