It was a real honour to be invited by House & Garden magazine to speak at the Spirit of Christmas Fair with their Executive Editor, Laura Normanton on the art of tablescaping for the festive season.
Laura and I wanted the talk to capture a joyful, inspiring approach to hosting that appeals to both the House & Garden reader and my own aesthetic. In a live session, we curated designs both from the fair and my own products hand-block printed in Jaipur.
Laura and I opted for our favourite combination: Pink and green are a natural pairing. On the colour wheel, green sits opposite red, so its softer tint - pink - still creates harmony. We see it constantly in nature - roses, blossom - which makes the combination instinctively pleasing. So we have the deep greens of the table linens and velvet bows around the cutlery paired with the soft pastel plates from Wonki Ware. We brought in more pastel shades of both mint and rose in the candlesticks.
The Q&A session was lively with questions on everything from recipes to ribbons - always my favourite part.
